A five day training camp on cultivation and storage of fruits, flowers and vegetables was organized by the Skill Development Center under the leadership of Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director Extension Education, PAU from February 11- 15, 2019. Associate Director, Skill Development and Coordinator, Dr T.S. Riar informed that 25 farmers participated in the camp. Technical Coordinator Dr Jaswinder Singh Brar discussed the layout and planning of orchards, plantation techniques of fruit trees, insect pest and disease management as well as timing of pruning of trees. Dr Ranjit Singh shared information on flower cultivation, nursery preparation and storage of cut flowers. Information on nursery production of vegetables was given by Dr Dilbag Singh.

Dr Riar further shared that a training camp on bee keeping for honey production was organized from 11- 15 February, 2019. The course was funded by National Horticulture Mission and was aatended by 36 participants. Course Director Pradeep Kumar Chhuneja and Technical Coordinator Dr Jaspal Singh briefed about different aspects of bee keeping starting right from purchase of bee boxes to marketing of honey.

Dr Rupinder Kaur informed about the forth coming training camps and discussed how these training courses can help farmers generate additional income.
