The Department of Fruit Science , PAU, in collaboration with the Skill Development Center organized a concluding programme to distribute certificates to farmers who successfully completed the one month Assistant Gardeners Training course. Chief Guest, Dr Jaskarn Singh Mahal, Director Extension, PAU, congratulated the participants for successfully completing the training and highlighted the importance of horticultural crops, urging them to adopt subsidiary occupations for income enhancement. Dr Harminder Singh, Head, Department of Fruit Science, shared tips on nursery production of fruits to increase profit. Dr T.S. Riar, Associate Director, Skill Development outlined the various training programmes conducted by the center and the available facilities. Dr Dilbagh Singh discussed vegetable cultivation and production of vegetable nursery. Dr kiranjeet Kaur Dhatt, Senior Scientist, Department of Floriculture outlined techniques for nursery production of flowers, ornamental plants and discussed methods of self employment. Dr Jaswinder Singh Brar, Course Incharge read out the report and shared success stories of participants. The candidates with maximum marks obtained in the course were later honoured.
