The Department of Extension Education, Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana organized a Farmers mobilization camp under DST funded project “Farmers’ Livelihood Security and Environmental Sustainability through Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) in Punjab” on 2nd November 2018 at villages Killi Nihal Singh and Bhagwangarh, District Bathinda. Dr Gulab, Assistant Microbiologist, Regional Research Station, Bathinda, Dr. Anureet Kaur, Agronomist, Regional Research Station, Bathinda addressed the farmers regarding the INM in wheat crop. The camp was attended by 50 Farmers in each village.
The harmful effects of over doses of fertilizer on soil, environment as well as in crop productivity was discussed by Dr L. Mohapatra. She emphasized for the proper management of fertilizer in wheat and persuaded the farmers for adopting the different INM practices in the upcoming crop season.
Dr Gulab, Assistant Microbiologist, discussed the availability of different biofertlizers for different crops in PAU, Regional Research Stations and Krishi Vigyan Kendras and demonstrated the proper use and application of bio fertilizer (Consortium) in Wheat.
Dr Anureet Kaur, Assistant Agronomist, discussed the proper use of chemicals in crop and the use of PAU Leaf Color Chart to know about requirement of urea in wheat and other crops.
The farmers appreciated the efforts made by PAU and promised that they would put the knowledge gained to practical use for the benefit of the INM. |
