FARMERS ATTENDED SECOND DAY OF FIVE DAY TRAINING ON CROP RESIDUE MANAGEMENT AT VILLAGE TAPRIAN RANEWAL BY KVK LANGROYA

Farmers attended very enthusiastically on 16/10/2018 training on Crop Residue Management which was started at KVK adopted village Taprian Ranewal by KVK Langroya Distt. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar on 15/10/2018 under the able guidance of Dr. Manoj Sharma Associate Director, (Training). On the first day of the training. Dr. Baljeet Singh, Asstt Prof (Plant Prot) discussed with farmers about various trainings, frontline demonstrations and efforts being done by KVK for promoting crop residue management. He also encouraged farmers to adopt profession of bee-keeping on commercial level. He stressed upon need of crop residue management on mass level by farmers by adopting various technologies and machinery like happy seeder, super SMS technique which is compulsory for combine harvester owners, paddy straw chopper, mulcher, bailer machine and other measures for paddy straw management. Dr Tejbeer Singh, Asstt. Prof. (Animal Science) told the farmers about various professions like goat farming, pig farming, poultry farming along with dairy farming as a subsidiary occupation. He told farmers to adopt any of these occupations along with agriculture as agriculture alone is not economically viable these days. Dr Shikha Bathla, Asstt. Prof. (Home Science) discussed with farmers about farmers own nutrition and advised farmers about different changes to be adopted by farmer families so as to reduce the risk of hypertension, kidney failure, heart ailments and other major issues of human health. She advised various diet plans to the farmers which can be adopted to reduce the above risks. Major stress was given on every possible option for crop residue management by all the experts on this occasion.
