The Food Processing Training cum Business Incubation Centre, Regional Station, Bathinda conducted a three-day training programme on “Value addition of Cereals and Pulses”, from October 10-12, 2018. This training programme was concluded today and was sponsored by Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), aimed at skill development and self-employment for rural youth of the area. Dr Ashok Kumar, Additional Director of research (FMB), Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana was chief guest on the concluding of this training programme. In his address, he told the participants about the opportunities in food processing sector. He also explained the milling technologies of major cereals and pulses along with the procedure to set up small scale milling units. In the introductory session, Dr Paramjit Singh, Director, Regional Station, Bathinda welcomed all the participants and motivated them to utilize this opportunity for creating self-employment and a living for themselves. This training programme was coordinated by Dr Gurpreet Kaur Dhillon, Assistant Food Technologist, Regional Station, Bathinda. Twenty participants from nearby villages of Bathinda district were benefited from this training programme. |
