Under the aegis of Punjab Agricultural University and ICAR -ATARI, Zone 1, Ludhiana, the PAU- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sangrur celebrated the World Health Day with rural women and Anganwadi workers of village Balian, district Sangrur. The event, based on the theme “My Health, My Right,” was organized under the able guidance of Dr Mandeep Singh, Associate Director (Training), KVK Sangrur in which around 40 rural women and anganwadi workers participated.
Dr Vitasta, Assistant Professor (Home Science), KVK, Sangrur emphasized that the trinity of physical, mental, and social health constitutes the three dimensions of the health triangle, each playing a vital role in enhancing overall well-being. Anaemia is highly prevalent in Sangrur district, she told, while sharing the causes, consequences, prevention and care for anaemia. A Poshan Thali was also displayed to awaken and encourage the consumption of iron rich foods amongst rural women.
Mrs Amarpreet Kaur, Programme Assistant, KVK Sangrur, was also present on the occasion. Later, healthy drinks were served to the participants. |
