The PAU’s Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Fatehgarh Sahib recently organized a field day aimed at shedding light on effective paddy straw management techniques. The event, held in Badali village, saw the participation of 60 farmers eager to learn and engage with experts.
Dr Vipan Kumar Rampal, Associate Director, delivered a lecture on residue management techniques, addressing the pressing need for sustainable agricultural practices.
Mrs Reet Verma, Assistant Professor (Plant protection), provided valuable insights into managing insect-pests affecting kharif crops, offering practical solutions to farmers' concerns.
Dr GPS Sethi, Assistant Professor (Animal Science), emphasized the utilization of paddy straw as animal feed, highlighting its potential as a resource in livestock farming.
Additionally, Dr Amanpreet Singh, Assistant Professor (Agronomy), shared agronomic practices for kharif crops, empowering farmers with knowledge to enhance crop productivity.
The interactive session allowed farmers to pose questions related to their local challenges, receiving prompt and informed responses from the expert panel.
