S Rajpal Singh Hundal, former captain of the Indian hockey team, delivered a compelling message on the paramount importance of integrating sports into student life, emphasizing its profound impact on physical and mental well-being. The occasion, titled 'The Importance of Sports in Student Life,' was orchestrated by the National Sports Organization of Punjab Agricultural University’s College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri. Hundal, presently serving as Superintendent Police in Roopnagar, graced the event as the esteemed chief guest.

Under the chairmanship of Dr Manmohanjit Singh, the Dean of PAU-College of Agriculture, Ballowal Saunkhri, the event aimed to inspire students to excel academically and athletically. Hundal, in his address, encouraged students to diligently pursue success through strategic planning, underscoring that sports instill not only hard work but also discipline, pivotal for achieving excellence.

Hundal interacted with students, responding to inquiries about sports life, police services, and the importance of balanced nutrition, particularly for girls. Dr Manmohanjit Singh further motivated students by highlighting the honor of hosting an illustrious former captain of the Indian Hockey team and Arjuna Awardee at PAU, an institution renowned for nurturing talent.
