Ms Jashandeep Kaur, a student of M.Sc. Biochemistry, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has secured third position in oral presentation, held during the International Conference on “Recent Advances and Future Prospects in Formatting a Healthier Food System (7th Amifost 2024)” at Amity Institute of Food Technology, Noida, on March 19-20. She received the award for her paper entitled “Indian spinach: Green leafy vegetable crop for strengthening the human immunity.” In her M.Sc. programme, she is working on “Nutritional and Anti-nutritional attributes assessment in Palak (Beta vulgaris L. var. bengalensis) germplasm” under the guidance of Dr Shilpa, Biochemist, Department of Biochemistry, PAU. Dr Hira Singh from the Department of Vegetable Science is the co-author of the abstract presented.
